Ontario Expert Commission on Pensions Releases Final Report

On November 20, 2008 the Ontario Expert Commission on Pensions released its final report, titled “A Fine Balance: Safe Pensions, Affordable Plans, Fair Rules.” The OECP Report, as well as the Research Program Summary and Research Papers are available on the OECP website.
The report, written by Commissioner Harry Arthurs, contains 142 recommendations and proposes the most significant overhaul of Ontario pension legislation in 20 years. Many of the report’s findings and recommendations will be of interest to trade unions, pension plans and their members.
